But I'm sure I've lost a lot more. And, so, part of that is because I have cut out things like sugar and salt and white flour and things that have been harmful for my plans to drop my weight and to get into better shape.
So, this guy comes along and he gives me these hotdogs, thinking "oh Gilbert's gonna like these. They're great!" So, the first thing he says is, "you like Hebrew National, right?"
Hebrew National, look at that, look at the protein: it's got 13 grams per hotdog. Isn't that great? And no artificial flavors. No artificial colors. No fillers. No by-products. No gluten. Now all of that sounds great to the mother who wants to make sure that her children get good quality food, right?
Well, let's just look at this one little thing down here where it says, Sodium. You probably can't see it on the camera here but it's a thousand and thirty milligrams of sodium! 43% of your..percentage of your recommended daily allowance is in one hotdog! Well, that's according to the EPA [should have been FDA].
He also gave me some chicken sausage. I mean, I don't know if the guy; what the story is, you know, a screw loose or something. But, chicken sausage right there should be a trigger. Garlic Herb. Trader Joe's.
I mean, this is Trader Joe's, supposed to be a really good quality!
- All natural!
- Chicken raised with no antibiotics used.
- Minimally processed.
- No artificial ingredients.
And it says it's already fully cooked, so all I have to do is just thaw it out and just eat it! But, each of these has 510 milligrams of sodium.
Like I said, the FDA, the Food and Drug Association, Administration. They determined that the average sodium intake for Americans should be 34 hundred milligrams of sodium a day!
Now, why would they do that? Now my rant is just not about the guy that gave me this crap, which we call the American hotdog.
But it's about the FDA telling us that the recommended daily allowance of 3400 milligrams of sodium. How is that possible?
When the average person, especially at my age. I'm over 50. I'm almost 60 years of age! I should not be consuming 3400 milligrams of sodium a day to be healthy.
But, because Big Pharma and the AMA, the American Medical Association, and all the big insurance companies are in bed with the Food and Drug Administration here in the United States, we have the stupidest recommended daily allowances for our daily intake of vitamins and minerals.
So, what does 3400 milligrams of sodium do to somebody? In my condition, being overweight and being an older generation, it doesn't matter! It raises your blood pressure!
If it raises your blood pressure, wouldn't it make sense for the Food and Drug Administration would want us to have the lower one so that we could have a lower blood pressure?
No, why? Because Big Pharma wants to sell you their drugs! Their pharmaceutical products! Many of them causing all kinds of extra problems! And who's administering those?
The doctors that are subscribed to the American Medical Association!
Like I said, they're all in this big orgy together with the Food and Drug Administration to allow crap like this to come into your home. And you say, "oh it's healthy! It's healthy! It's got this brand name! It's all really good!" 500 milligrams of sodium in ONE!
So, according to several sources online, which I will note in the description below and in the blog that follows, you'll see that the average intake of sodium should only be about maybe 1500 a day; 1500 milligrams a day.
For some, that's still too high. It's better to not just be on sodium altogether because there's other things that we can take. There's potassium in our foods.
Like one blog site I visited this morning saw that things like bananas and potatoes and prunes and different types of vegetables and fruits have enough potassium to help balance out that sodium intake.
Potassium is a great salt substitute. But taking it as a supplement could actually be harmful for you. So you want..you ought to keep everything in balance. But this sort of thing takes everything out of balance.
So, my suggestion to you. If you want hotdogs, change your mind! Don't have something that has such a high sodium content.
Why have an enjoyable time there but you come away with a high blood pressure? You come away with an additional illnesses and diseases just to feed the FDA and Big Pharma? No!
I'm totally opposed to those organizations. And I think you should be too! So if you want to have more help, get more help about these things, I can give you some suggestion in the description below.
But I hope you do your homework and you go to the market and spend good money and buy something that you'll regret for the rest of your life.
I hope you have a great day!
